A Warm, Earthy Remodel for a Busy Bakersfield Family
We recently had the honor of transforming a Bakersfield family’s home into a calming, earthy retreat—starting with their primary suite and extending into their sons’ bedroom and kids’ bathroom.

This warm and welcoming home belongs to a couple with three kids (two girls and a boy) and two dogs. With Dad sometimes working from home, functionality and comfort were just as important as style. We designed each space with durability in mind, without sacrificing the refined look of an updated traditional home.

We leaned into neutral tones, natural textures, and easy-care materials that could hold up to the hustle and bustle of family life. Our goal was to create a soft, organic atmosphere that felt elevated—but still completely livable.
This remodel was all about balance: warm but clean, timeless but personal. In the primary suite, we framed the couple’s wedding song lyrics in the shape of a vinyl record—a special detail that adds sentiment without disrupting the cohesive design.

We worked with SMP Construction (smpattersonconstruction.com) to bring the remodel to life. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail helped make this project seamless from start to finish.
And all of this was designed by Bakersfield Interior Designer, Michelle Lopez of Kelly Archer Interiors.

As a Bakersfield interior designer, we love when projects feel deeply personal and practical. This one checked all the boxes. It reflects what we love to do most: create meaningful spaces for real families.
